The Snowy Mountains known informally as The Snowies an IBRA subregion are the highest Australian mountain range and contain the Australian mainland’s highest mountain Mount Kosciuszko which reaches 2228 m (7310 ft) AHD.The range contains the five highest peaks on the Australian mainland all above 2100 m (6890 ft). They are located in southern New South Wales and are part of the larger Australian Alps and the Great Dividing Range.
