Sirtuin or Sir2 proteins are a class of proteins that possess either mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase or deacylase activity including deacetylase desuccinylase demalonylase demyristoylase and depalmitoylase activity. Sirtuins regulate important biological pathways in bacteria archaea and eukaryotes.
