Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) established in 1968 is a government run medical college cum hospital located at Silchar in the southern Assam. It is the only referral hospital in the southern part of Assam also referred to as the Barak Valley. Being situated in a strategic geographic location it also renders its services to the ailing community of the neighbouring states like Mizoram North Tripura West Manipur and South Meghalaya.
