Sigur Rós was formed in 1994 in Reykjavík Iceland by singer and guitarist Jón Þór Birgisson bassist Georg Hólm and drummer Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson.Sigur Rós released their debut album Von in 1997 with Smekkleysa Records.
