She Who Must Be Obeyed is a minimalist sculpture created by Tony Smith in 1975. It is located at the Frances Perkins Building in the downtown Washington D.C. neighborhood. The piece consists of nine geometric rhomboid units bolted and welded together that have been painted blue. The sculpture is one of the crown jewels of Tony Smith’s stellar career one that encompassed architecture painting and sculpture.
