Scotch Corner (grid reference NZ214053) is an important junction of the A1 and A66 trunk roads near Richmond North Yorkshire England. It has been described as the modern gateway to Cumbria the North East and Scotland. It is an important primary destination signed from many miles away including from the M6 and is one of the best known junctions in the country. The reason for its fame and the name it takes is because this is the turning point for traffic wishing to go to Scotland.
