Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a ski resort in the western United States in northern Idaho 11 miles (18 km) northwest of Sandpoint. Located in Bonner County in the Selkirk Mountains it overlooks Lake Pend Oreille to the southeast with views of the Bitterroot and Cabinet mountain ranges. The ski area is approximately 45 miles (72 km) south of the Canadian border.Schweitzer Mountain has a summit elevation of 6400 feet (1951 m) above sea level with a vertical drop of 2440 feet (744 m).
