Sausage sizzles are a common Australian and New Zealand charity fundraising and community event named in relation to the food cooked and sold. Consisting of a barbecued sausage served on a slice of white bread or on a bread roll these are often also called Sausage sizzle and may be accompanied by tomato sauce mustard and sometimes barbecued onions. All ingredients are usually purchased as cheaply (or donated) as possible so as to maximise fundraising.
