Sara Jane Moore (née Kahn; born February 15 1930) is an American citizen best known for attempting to assassinate US President Gerald Ford in 1975. She was given a life sentence for the attempted assassination and was released from prison on December 31 2007 after serving 32 years. Moore and Lynette Squeaky Fromme hold the distinction of being the only two women who have ever attempted to assassinate an American president.
