Samuel Atkins Eliot (March 5 1798 – January 29 1862) (who was a patriarch of a distinguished American family the Eliot family and which included Thomas Hopkinson Eliot) was a member of the United States House of Representatives from Massachusetts.Eliot was born in Boston Massachusetts in 1798 and was the son of banker Samuel Eliot. He attended the Boston Latin School; graduated from Harvard University in 1817 and from Harvard Divinity School in 1820.
