Saint Bríga (Brigid Bridget) (fl 6th century) is venerated as foundress of the monastery of Oughter Ard in Ardclough County Kildare (53°16′40″N 6°33′55″W).Her feast day is 21 January. Bríga is also associated with Brideschurch near Sallins (53°14′36″N 6°41′28″W.) and possibly with Kilbride in County Waterford (52°11′24″N 7°09′51″W.).
