Safrazine (Safra) is an irreversible and nonselective monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) of the hydrazine chemical class that was used introduced as an antidepressant in the 1960s and is still used in Japan today. As with all MAOIs safrazine is contraindicated in patients using SSRIs SSRAs and serotonin agonists.
