Ruth Osborne (previously Benson) is a fictional character from the long-running Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks played by Terri Dwyer. She first appeared in 1995 as part of the Osborne family before leaving in 2001. Since then she has made guest appearances between 2003–2004 and 2008. In 2009 Dwyer said she’d return to the show. Her storylines included a controversial lesbian affair with Jasmine Bates and relationships with Kurt Benson and Tony Hutchinson.
