RU28362 is a synthetic molecule in the steroid family developed by the Roussel Uclaf pharmaceutical company after which it was named. RU28362 or RU-28362 is a specific receptor agonist i.e. binds the glucocorticoid receptor (Corticoid Type II Receptor) but not the mineralocorticoid receptor (Corticoid Type I Receptor).A similar compound is dexamethasone that also specifically binds the Type II receptor with high affinity.
