The Royal Society Rosalind Franklin Award was established in 2003 and is awarded annually by the Royal Society to a person for an outstanding work in any field of science technology engineering and mathematics (STEM fields). It is funded by the Department for Innovation Universities and Skills (DIUS) as part of its efforts to promote women in the STEM fields.
