The (Roman Catholic) Diocese of Buxar (Latin: Dioecesis Buxarensis) in India was created on December 12 2005. It is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Patna. Its first bishop was William D’Souza. He was named archbishop of Archdiocese of Patna on October 1 2007. The see was vacant till April 7 2009 when Sebastian Kallupura was appointed.
