The Roman Catholic Diocese of Belfort-Montbéliard (Lat:Dioecesis Belfortiensis-Montis Beligardi) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic church in France. Erected in November 1979 the diocese was split off from the Archdiocese of Besançon and remains a suffragan of the parent diocese.The diocese corresponds to the department of Belfort in the region of Franche-Comté.The current bishop is Claude Schockert appointed in March 2000.
