Robert S. Murphy (October 18 1861 – June 24 1912) was the ninth Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania from 1907 to 1911. Murphy was born in Louisville New York but spent most of his childhood in Portland Maine where his family was active in the temperance movement. He was educated at Hedding College. In 1880 he moved to Johnstown Pennsylvania and he was admitted to the Cambria County bar in 1881.
