Robert Ronald Atwell (born 3 August 1954) is the current Anglican Bishop of Stockport.Atwell was born in 1954 in Ilford Essex and educated at the St John’s College Durham and Westcott House Cambridge. He was ordained as a priest of the Church of England in 1979. His career began with a curacy at John Keble Church Mill Hill after which he was chaplain of Trinity College Cambridge from 1981 to 1987.
