Rie Kaneto (金藤 理絵 Kaneto Rie born September 8 1988 in Shobara Hiroshima) is a Japanese swimmer who specialized in breaststroke events. Kaneto broke both a Japanese and Asian record of 2:20.72 at the Japan University Championships in Kumamoto. She is also a fifth-place finalist in the same stroke at the 2005 FINA World Championships in Montreal Canada and at the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome Italy. Kaneto is a physical education graduate at Tokai University in Hiroshima.
