Richard G. Olson is an American diplomat. He succeeded Cameron Munter who resigned in May 2012 as U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan. Previously Olson had served as the Coordinating Director for Development and Economic Affairs in the U.S. Embassy Kabul with the rank of Ambassador. He is a career member of the Foreign Service class of Minister Counselor.
