Repretel Canal 9 was the first station established by Repretel media group in Costa Rica it was sub-lease from TV Azteca and ended in 2000. Repretel moved its programming to owned-operated Repretel Channel 4 bought from TV Azteca in the same year. Currently the station is branded as canal nueve and still carries TV Azteca programming.
