René Ray Countess of Midleton (22 September 1911 – 28 August 1993) was a British film and stage actress of the 1930s and 1940s who appeared in over forty films. Her father was Alfred Edward Creese a famous British automotive and aviation inventor who designed and built the first mono wing aeroplane to fly in 1909 Blackpool air show.She turned to writing for much of her later career; her work includes the 1957 novel The Strange World of Planet X and its television adaptation.
