Ralf Åkesson (born 8 February 1961 Oxelösund Sweden) is a Swedish chess grandmaster.Åkesson was awarded the International Master title in 1981 and the grandmaster title in 1995.In 1980/1981 he won the European Junior Chess Championship U20 in Groningen. In 1985 and 1999 he won the Swedish Chess Championship. In April 2001 he won the Grandmaster Group in Gausdal. In December 2003 he won the Rilton Cup in Stockholm. In April 2005 he won the GM-B-Group of the Gausdal-Classics-Tournament.
