Radio y Televisión Martí is a radio and television broadcaster based in Miami Florida financed by the United States Government (Broadcasting Board of Governors) which transmits pro-democracy newscasts to Cuba as a balance to the island’s heavily-censored tightly-controlled and government-run news media. Its broadcasts can also be heard and viewed in the United States. It was established in 1983 with the addition of TV Martí in 1990.
