This enzyme catalises the following chemical reaction (1) (-)-menthone + NADP+ (+)-pulegone + NADPH + H+ (2) (+)-isomenthone + NADP+ (+)-pulegone + NADPH + H+NADH cannot replace NADPH as reductant.
