The Prix Lumière (English: Light Prize) is a French film award given annually since 1935 discontinued since 1985 and continued since 1996. The award honors the best in the French-speaking cinema of the previous year and is organized by the Academie des Lumières together with over 200 representatives of the international press based in Paris. Today it is regarded as one of most prestigious French film industry awards equivalent to the Golden Globes Awards.
