The Port City Roosters were a minor league baseball team based in Wilmington North Carolina. The team which played in the Southern League was the Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners major-league club. The Roosters played in Brooks Field on the campus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Opened in 1989 the park seats 3000 fans.The team began play in 1995 after the Nashville Xpress was relocated to Wilmington.
