Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (variously abbreviated PNIPA PNIPAAm NIPA PNIPAA or PNIPAm) is a temperature-responsive polymer that was first synthesized in the 1950s. It can be synthesized from N-isopropylacrylamide which is commercially available.
