Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate (PHBV) is a polyhydroxyalkanoate-type polymer. It is biodegradable nontoxic biocompatible plastic produced naturally by bacteria and a good alternative for many non-biodegradable synthetic polymers. It is a thermoplastic linear aliphatic polyester.
