The Plateau Rosa is a glacier situated in the Pennine Alps in the Valais canton of Switzerland just across the border with the Aosta Valley Italy. Its name derives from the French word plateau and the Valdôtain patois term Rosà meaning frozen.The glacier includes peaks such as the Klein Matterhorn (3883 m) and Testa Grigia (3480 m). Plateau Rosa is renowned for its sporting facilities.
