Piotr Libera (born 1951) is a Polish bishop. He was Suffragan bishop of Katowice from 1996 to 2007 and secretary general of the Episcopate of Poland (1998–2007).Since May 2 2007 Piotr Libera is the bishop of Płock. His public installation ceremony took place on May 31 2007 in Masovian Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Płock.In 2009 he excommunicated a journalist who had attempted to tape-record a religious confession in order to denounce corruption in the clergy.
