Phosphoprotein phosphatase is an enzyme that dephosphorylates certain phosphorylated proteins.In some contexts Phosphoprotein phosphatase is equated with serine/threonine specific protein phosphatase and classified under EC 3.1.3.16.In other contexts the term also includes protein tyrosine phosphatase (EC 3.1.3.48) and dual-specificity phosphatase. This latter convention is used in this article.
