The Philippine Rice Research Institute more popularly known by its shortened name PhilRice is a Philippine rice research institute and a government-owned and controlled corporation based in Maligaya Muñoz Nueva Ecija Philippines. Rice being the staple crop of the country the research institute was created in order to develop a national rice research program in order to sustain and improve the gains of rice production.
