Philip Leslie Freier is the 13th Anglican Archbishop of Melbourne a position he has held since 16 December 2006.Freier was born on 9 February 1955 in Brisbane and raised as a Roman Catholic. He has a PhD from James Cook University a Master of Educational Studies from the University of Newcastle a Bachelor of Divinity from the Melbourne College of Divinity a Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Queensland Institute of Technology.
