Phenethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC) is a naturally occurring isothiocyanate that is found in some cruciferous vegetables. PEITC has been studied for its potential for chemoprevention.In terms of biosynthesis PEITC is produced from gluconasturtiin by the action of the enzyme myrosinase.
