The Very Rev. Peter Short was the 38th Moderator of the United Church of Canada from 2003 until 2006. He was elected Moderator in 2003 and his term expired at the United Church of Canada’s 39th General Council in the summer of 2006. He is succeeded by The Rt. Rev. David Giuliano of Marathon Ontario.Short was born July 22 1948 in Kingston Ontario and grew up in Arnprior and Braeside Ontario.
