The People’s United Party is one of two major political parties in the Central American country Belize and currently the main opposition party with 14 of 31 seats in the House of Representatives. It is a Christian democratic party. The party leader is Francis Fonseca.The PUP governed Belize from independence in 1981 to 1984 and then from 1989 to 1993 and from 1998 to 2008.
