Peoples’ Democratic Party (Turkish: Halkların Demokratik Partisi Kurdish: Partiya Demokratika Gelan) is a pro-minority rights and feminist left political party in Turkey. The party maintains strong links with pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) and the two parties run in parallel in the 2014 municipal elections with the BDP running in Turkey’s Kurdish-dominated southeast while the HDP competes in the rest of the country.
