Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (also known as PSERS) is an independent administrative board of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that manages the public pension system for educational employees in Pennsylvania. It was established by an act of the Pennsylvania General Assembly on July 1 1919. Os of December 31 2008 the pension fund amounted to $45.4 billion.
