The Pennsylvania gubernatorial election of 1854 occurred on November 7 1854. Incumbent governor William Bigler a Democrat was a candidate for re-election but was defeated by Whig candidate James Pollock. As of 2014 Bigler is the most recent incumbent Governor of Pennsylvania to be defeated for re-election.
