Peace One Day is a non-profit organisation whose objective is to institutionalise the International Day of Peace 21 September making it a day that is self-sustaining an annual day of global unity a day of intercultural cooperation on a scale that humanity has never known. Founded in 1999 by the British documentary filmmaker and actor Jeremy Gilley Peace One Day was instrumental in the United Nations’ unanimous adoption in 2001 of the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September – Peace Day.
