Patna Metro (Hindi:पटना मेट्रो) is the proposed Mass Rapid Transit system for the City of Patna in Bihar. On Sep 14 2011 The Planning Commission of India gave approval for the Patna Metro. The Metro rail will be introduced on two routes under the public-private partnership mode. The metro rail in Patna is the second metro rail transport system in the total East India after the Kolkata Metro in the city of Kolkata.The Metro rail is expected to run on three routes in 2016.
