Paswan (Hindi: पासवान Pāsvān ultimately from Persian: پاسبان Pāsbān meaning: Sentinel or Defender or Worthy of praise) is a community of Hindus in India. Generally found in the States of Uttar Pradesh Bihar Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Although Paswans can be found in any parts of India specially in cities like New Delhi and Mumbai. Indian Constitution lays down reservations for the Paswans under the articles 341 and 342.
