Papaverine /pəˈpævəriːn/ (lat. papaver poppy) is an opium alkaloid antispasmodic drug used primarily in the treatment of visceral spasm vasospasm (especially those involving the heart and the brain) and occasionally in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
