Open J-Gate was a free database of open access journals launched in February 2006 hosted by Informatics (India) Ltd. At May 2012 it had been closed for several months and was displaying a message that the site will be back soon. At December 2012 Open J-Gate had been defaulting to a bare 404 not found message for over a month.Informatics started the metadata aggregation from open access journals as part of the development of J-Gate.
