The Nottinghamshire Miners’ Association was a trade union in the United Kingdom.The union was founded in 1881 to represent coal miners in Nottinghamshire.During the UK General Strike of 1926 General Secretary George Alfred Spencer negotiated a return to work for some members against the wishes of the union and he was expelled. He founded the Nottinghamshire Miners’ Industrial Union a breakaway union supported by moderates such as John Hancock.
