The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training (Norwegian: Utdanningsdirektoratet UDIR) is Norwegian government agency under the Ministry of Education and Research. It is responsible for development of primary and secondary education including the management of the Norwegian Support System for Special Education (Statped).The organization based in Oslo was established on 15 June 2004 by then-Minister of Education Kristin Clemet. Its director since 2004 is Petter Skarheim.
