The North/Red Line Extension is a 5.3 mi (9 km) expansion of the existing Red Line route that will be designed constructed and operated by METRO in Houston Texas. The Southeast Line will tie into the North Line and will serve Texas Southern University and the University of Houston. Originally scheduled to open in 2014 the line opened ahead of schedule on December 21 2013.
