North by Northwestern is a daily online news magazine at Northwestern University started in September 2006 by students at the Medill School of Journalism. It is noted for its multimedia coverage of campus events.[citation needed] In 2008 the site was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists with eight regional Mark of Excellence Awards one more than in 2007.
